I make silly things that make me laugh. I especially love making clay cars, even though I am not what you would call a car person. I am attracted mostly to vintage cars, especially those from the 1940s for their big rounded shapes, and from the 1950s for their flamboyant fins, chrome, and over-the-top details. Cars will never be made to look like that again, and honestly, I wouldn't want them to, since modern cars are much safer, more energy efficient, and better for the environment. But I like to imagine what would happen if those old cars hadn't become more streamlined after the 1950s.
When I make a car, I try to make their design more absurd and less practical. I like to emphasize personality over function. My cars are their own creatures, evolved to exist on their own, without drivers. They are upbeat, unflappable, and have a great sense of humor. They make wonderful friends.
